Case Studies
A look at the kind of electrical estimating and takeoff work MeTiger does — described by project type and scope, not by client name. Below you will find representative prior experience that illustrates our capability, followed by Canadian case studies we are actively building as new projects wrap up.
Representative prior estimating experience
The following are anonymized, generic descriptions of prior estimating work, grouped by project type. They are shown to convey the scope, systems, and coordination involved — no owners, brands, stores, or locations are identified.
Large-format retail interior remodel
Takeoff and labour summary for a big-box interior renovation: LED lighting upgrades and controls, refrigeration and case power, back-of-house branch circuits, and receptacle and equipment connections. Scope was organized so the count could be phased and priced around live store operations, with clear inclusions, exclusions, and after-hours assumptions documented for the bid.
Restaurant tenant improvement build-out
Estimate for a restaurant fit-out inside a leased shell: kitchen equipment power, exhaust hood interlocks and controls coordination, dining-room lighting and controls, and front-of-house receptacles. The package flagged tenant-versus-landlord scope splits, base-building tie-in points, and equipment with unclear power sources so the contractor could resolve them before pricing.
Municipal wastewater lift-station package
Electrical takeoff for municipal wastewater lift-station work: pump control panels, motor feeders and disconnects, SCADA tie-in provisions, and standby generator and automatic transfer switch (ATS) provisions. Utility service coordination points, grounding, and site conduit were quantified and noted, with assumptions logged where the documents were incomplete or in conflict.
Representative of scope and project type; shown to illustrate capability.
Canadian case studies — coming soon
We publish a case study only once the project is complete and the contractor has agreed to share it. Rather than invent details or metrics, these Canadian examples are marked coming soon and will be filled in with real, permission-based work.
Commercial tenant improvement estimate – Canada
An anonymized Canadian commercial fit-out takeoff and labour summary, added once a completed project is available to share.
Restaurant fit-out estimate – Canada
A Canadian restaurant build-out estimate covering kitchen power, hood interlocks, and dining lighting, to be published with permission.
Municipal / utility electrical estimate – Canada
A Canadian municipal or utility electrical package with controls, standby power, and site coordination, added as work wraps up.
Industrial electrical takeoff – Canada
A Canadian industrial or process electrical takeoff with feeders, motors, and controls, to be featured once completed and approved.
Scope, not spin
Case studies are useful for understanding project types and coordination challenges — but the best way to judge our work is the deliverable itself. Here is what every MeTiger estimate is built to show, on any of the projects above:
- Quantity takeoff you can check line by line
- Colour-coded marked-up drawings
- Material list organized by system
- Labour-hour summary with the labour-unit basis
- Documented inclusions and exclusions
- RFI and scope-gap log for conflicts and missing items
- Addenda reconciled against the base set
- Clear assumptions instead of silent guesses
